Today
is a good day to wear green!
THE PICTURE BOOK
Today, written and illustrated by Julie Morstad, was published by Simply Read Books on November 18, 2016!
This is such a fun book because it gives all the choice back to the reader and, of course, particularly to kids! Here’s how it starts:
Kids lives are laid out before them with so many choices being made by their caretakers that it makes a book like this so fun and special. In Today, they get to choose what to wear, what to eat, where to go, and what to do!
Look at all these cute clothes!!
Aren’t these illustrations just so pretty! I love the way Julie Morstad does kid faces and especially their eyes. I find them quite charming, soft, and sweet.
Also, when I got to this page I nearly yelled out “fennec fox!” They are one of my top three favorite animals after all! (Ooo what are my other two favorite animals?! Find out below!)
THE LOOK
Alrighty, for the Picture Book Look I wore a, what are we calling this, olive green? chartreuse?, dress from Anthropologie with my tan ankle boots and some layered necklaces to provide the tiny pops of pink and turquoise and the sun shape from the cover.
And here’s a closer up look to see the jewelry:
I really liked this outfit personally though that day at work I was kind of cold so it got covered up by my jean jacket most of the day. Not to worry though, there will be another “today” to wear that dress and give it the spotlight it deserves haha.
Thanks for reading along! Please, leave a comment with your favorite clothes item, breakfast choice, or animal from the spreads above! Oh yeah my other two favorite animals are keel-billed toucans and capybaras.
